Like fireworks in the sunshine…sometimes things just don’t work

Sometimes, no matter how long you stare at a blog post, something just isn’t right. But you can’t work out what.

It’s like fireworks in the middle of the day. There’s nothing technically wrong with it, it just doesn’t have the desired effect.

So what do you do? Chuck the idea in the bin…or get some external help to turn your idea into what it could be?

I have a masters in Creative Writing and over a decade of experience writing everything from 100-word social media captions to 120,000-word novels. After writing and editing millions of words, I’ve learnt how to make writing snappier, more effective, and brimming with the personality.

After all, your brand is innovative – why shouldn’t your marketing content be?

Stop pulling out your hair. Start solving your SEO woes.

How could content editing help your business?

Publishing great content is only one quarter of what goes into effective marketing. You also need:

  • A marketing strategy to get the most from it
  • Some form of advertising so that people know your content exists
  • Regular updates to keep it relevant and ranking

Your competitors are publishing new content all the time, and they’re using you as a benchmark. Search engines also update algorithms regularly (without telling us), which means the goalposts are always moving.

That means you need to work to keep your content fresh. What worked a year ago may no longer work now, and it’s almost guaranteed to not work next year. As a result, it plummets in the rankings. And you get less visibility, and fewer leads.

Regular content edits to keep your content filled with the latest information, ensure it’s still relevant to your target audience, and help it compete with your competitors.

Testimonials

See what current and past clients have to say about working with me.

We’ve worked with Kristina a number of times over the years to write video scripts for our animation studio. We pride ourselves on creating persuasive, engaging, and effective videos and that all starts with a killer script.

This is why it was so important to find a copywriter that understands psychology, people’s motivations and how to trigger emotions as Kristina does. Our clients have always been delighted with Kristina’s script writing and we’ve enjoyed collaborating with her. We’ll continue to work with Kristina going forward and if you need a script writer you should too!

Kristina’s adaptability as a professional copywriter – to quickly adopt a new tone of voice or writing style (as a brief requires), as well as delivering quality and accuracy shows true craftsmanship – the result of her experience and testament to her nature and commitment.

I’d recommend Kristina as a copywriter or advisor – as well as for SEO or content strategy consultancy. This well rounded skill set makes her an excellent marketer and she is always able to look beyond the content to support the wider marketing goals. Her impeccable standards and expertise in her field are something I can’t help but recommend.

Content Editing FAQs

Why isn’t editing way cheaper? Isn’t writing the hardest part?

Editing is often the longest and hardest part of the writing process. It often gets forgotten, neglected, and downplayed, but editing is what makes your piece shine.

Think of a first draft as a the bricks of a house. You can’t live in it if it just consists of brick and mortar. It’s the walls, flooring, even the tchotchke that makes it liveable and adds personality. Those are the things that editing adds.

And what differentiates your business from the competition.

How does AI content editing compare to a human content editor?

AI is a good editor, but it’s not a great one. It can pick up on things like typos or tone of voice, but it’s not great with structure, depth, or personality. That’s still where humans excel.

Often, when it tries to recreate your voice, it falls flat. It thinks it sounds like you, but you know it’s just off. Thin. Generic. Boring, even.

And you can keep prompting AI until your fingers go numb, but unless you can articulate what’s wrong, it won’t be able to fix it. Something feeling ‘off’ isn’t feedback AI can work with – it thrives on specificity.

And even when you do get super specific, sometimes it still can’t get there 😬

It can also struggle with consistency in longer blocks of text or conversations.

Human editors, on the other hand, can tease out what you’re really looking for from your content to help you achieve your goals.

Working with a human editor is faster, cheaper, less stressful, and gets you the results you want. No hair-pulling required.
